Invest in Excellence
When Kylah Brewer (‘26) first walked through the doors of Southwest Christian School as an eighth grader, she immediately sensed something different. “At my old school, teachers cared,” she remembers, “but here, they pour their hearts into us. They give their all.”
That kind of wholehearted investment changed everything for Kylah.
Since joining SCS, Kylah has thrived both inside and outside the classroom, serving on National Honor Society, Academic Team, Athletic Director (AD) Council, and Ministry Team, while leading as captain of the dance team.
Among all her experiences, though, nothing has impacted Kylah’s faith journey like the High School Retreat. Each fall, students set aside academics to focus on faith, worship, and community. “There’s something special about retreat,” she says. “Everyone is focused on the Lord. The vulnerable, emotional moments draw us closer. I’ve become best friends with people because of it.”
Over time, SCS became more than a school to Kylah, it became her spiritual home.
“SCS became my church,” she says. “We pray before class, do devotionals, and incorporate faith in different lessons. I’ve realized that Christ really is in all things.”
As she prepares for college, Kylah feels deeply equipped for what’s next. “SCS has prepared me so well…academically, spiritually, and emotionally. I’ve learned how to balance life, face challenges, and stay grounded in my faith.”
When asked what she’ll carry with her time at SCS most, Kylah smiles. “The relationships. The teachers and friends who made me feel known and loved. I wouldn’t be who I am today without them,” she laughs. “Honestly, a lot of my teachers will probably be at my wedding. That’s how much they’ve meant to me.”
Every gift to Southwest Christian School is an investment in students like Kylah. And this year, your generosity will go even further. West Fort Worth Lifestyle Magazine has offered a generous $5,000 matching gift, doubling the impact of every dollar you give when made by December 31.
As you consider your year-end giving, we invite you to make a gift that advances the mission of SCS and may provide personal tax advantages. Many families choose to give through one of these strategic methods:
Gifts of Appreciated Assets (stocks, mutual funds, etc.)
Donor-Advised Fund recommendations
IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (for donors age 70½+)
Employer Matching Gifts
