SCS Announces 2012 National Merit Commended Students and National Hispanic Scholar
October 5, 2011
About 34,000 Commended Students through the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Scores from this test are used to determine National Merit Scholars, National Hispanic Scholars and National Achievement Scholars.
SCS is pleased to announce that we have two students who tested in the top 3% nationwide and have been named National Merit Commended Scholar:
Abby Fransen and Josh Long
The National Hispanic Recognition Program is recognizing nearly 5000 Hispanic students selected from a pool of over 235,000 who took the 2010 PSAT. From this pool of 5000, the students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are designated National Hispanic Scholars.
SCS is delighted to announce that Joshua Long has been selected as a National Hispanic Scholar.
