This year, ATPI set a new record of 7,715 entries from schools across Texas, Kansas, New York and Wisconsin. Twenty-six SCS students entered the contest in 18 different categories. Eighty schools entered and SCS placed fourth in the number of awards received by our students.

The judges for the 2009 ATPI Fall contest include Dan Bryant, a commercial photographer from Dallas; Randy Elio Grothe, formerly with the Dallas Morning News and now a freelance photographer; Danae Males, a photography professor from Texas A&M University-Commerce; Clif Palmberg, Taylor Publishing Company; Barry Snidow, photography faculty member from North Lake College; and just back from covering Afghanistan, Erin Trieb, a photojournalist from Austin, Texas.

Cross Country State Meet Results:
Girls team place 2nd overall.  State Runner up in just our 3rd year!  They beat out the defending state champion Incarnate Word by 1 point. Savanna McAlister shocked the state by WINNING THE STATE MEET!! Elizabeth Fargo also made all-state with her 7th place finish. Matthew Michner grabbed the 10th and final all-state spot on the boys side.  I have never seen one of my runners push a body to the total limit like he did. Our boys ran a great race and I was very proud.  They finished 9th overall and worked so incredibly hard.
