FINANCIAL AID

PHILOSOPHY:
Financial aid is granted to families at Southwest Christian school based on information received which meets the guidelines outlined on this page. The program makes limited funds available for those who qualify.

While it is our firm belief that the primary responsibility for financing a child's education rests with the family, SCS recognizes that not every family can bear the full cost.

Southwest Christian School subscribes to the philosophy of need-based financial aid as opposed to merit-based scholarships. Consequently, no awards are made solely on the basis of academic, athletic, or artistic ability. To receive financial aid a student's family must demonstrate financial need.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS:
Apply for admission to SCS by contacting the Admissions Office at 817-294-9596 ext. 242, or obtain an application by downloading an application from our website.

Request a Financial Aid application from the Admissions Office, or apply online at www.factstuitionaid.com

Only one application per family is required, regardless of the number of children applying.

Complete the Financial Aid application for FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment (address included in applications to be mailed.) Be sure to include the required fee. Be sure that the appropriate items are mailed before April 1st to be considered in first-round financial aid placements.

If a student is accepted for admission, the enrollment fee will be required to save the student's place before the final financial aid awards are made. The enrollment fee will be completely refunded if the aid amount is not sufficient for the student to enroll.

Competition for financial aid is significant. Limited funds may prevent the Financial Aid Committee from offering assistance to all qualified deserving applicants. Therefore, students to whom financial assistance is awarded are expected to accept or decline the award within two weeks of notification. In the event the student fails to comply with this requirement the Financial Aid Committee reserves the right to award the aid to an alternate candidate.

*Tuition amount listed is for payment in full by June 1. Other payment options are semi-annual or monthly through automatic withdrawal. Semi-annual payments will be assessed a 10% finance charge on the second installment balance. Monthly payments will be assessed a 10% finance charge on the entire balance.

TUITION DEPOSIT
A tuition deposit is due at the time of acceptance and is non-refundable.

*This deposit will be subtracted from the overall tuition amount, and is not a separate fee.

EXTENDED HOURS PROGRAM:
Before and after school care is available for grades Pre-K 4 through 6th grade, and after school care is available for grades 7th through 12th for an additional fee.

Registration for extended hours will be held prior to the start of the 2008/09 school year.
