SCS Alumni Association

The SCS Alumni Association has been formed in order to promote a continuing and mutually beneficial relationship between the alumni and Southwest Christian School. We count among our goals, the preservation and promotion of the heritage, traditions, and values of the school and the encouragement of the alumni to maintain a strong sense of identity with and a commitment to Southwest Christian School.

I am honored to serve as the inaugural President of the Southwest Christian School Alumni Association Board of Directors. The board and I look forward to serving the Association and advancing the cause of our core goals. We seek continued involvement and dialogue with all Alumni of Southwest Christian School. As alumni, we welcome your comments and suggestions concerning the Association and look forward to working for and with you all.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Each year the Advancement department recognizes and honors distinguished alumni from Southwest Christian School. If you know of an outstanding SCS graduate, please submit his or her name and qualifications to Lmadison@southwestchristian.org by August 16, 2010. All entries will be reviewed and a male and female alumnus will be presented at halftime of Homecoming on September 17, 2010.

Qualifying criteria:

• Candidate must be a graduate of Southwest Christian School.
• Candidate must be a Christian leader in the community who represents the mission and ideals of Southwest Christian School.
• Candidate must model a public and private life of Christian principles, standards and objectives.

Guidelines for those wishing to nominate distinguished alumni:

• New nominations are considered each year.
• Nominee must satisfy qualifying criteria.
• The person nominating the candidate must submit a letter of support.
• All nominations and letters of support must be received by the Advancement department by September 15, 2009.

After careful prayer and consideration of all nominees, the Advancement department will make the final decision regarding the Distinguished Alumni Award. The deadline for submission of this information is August 16, 2010. The alums chosen to receive this award will be notified by September 1st, to allow time to make arrangements to attend Homecoming for the acceptance of the award.
