The Past, the Present, and the Future

As we gather together on our fortieth anniversary of Christian education, we have the wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth and development of this remarkable school. We gratefully acknowledge a history of strong leaders and the personal sacrifices of so many families who were committed to a Christ-centered education for their children. We share a heritage that is rich in family stories and school traditions.

Today Southwest Christian School is a fully accredited college preparatory school. We are honored to be recognized nationally and internationally for our award-winning curriculum and global education initiatives. Multi-leveled, developmentally appropriate instruction prepares our students to develop their talents and strive to reach their full potentials. Starting with our youngest members in pre-school and advancing through the grades to graduation, spiritual life remains inseparably linked to all aspects of student life.

The Southwest Christian School Board of Trustees works strategically with school leadership to fulfill the mission of Southwest Christian School. Board appointed committees meet regularly to oversee strategic, long-range planning while sustaining financial stability and monitoring growth. Responsible fiscal management includes master facility planning, monitoring competitive teacher compensation packages, and developing long range financial strategies to keep tuition rates affordable.

Although much has been accomplished, we have significant goals over the next five years. Current prep campus facility plans include adding a middle school building, expanding athletic facilities to include a track and softball field, and improving traffic flow to relieve current parking and congestion issues. We have drawn plans for a chapel and our growing athletic program is in desperate need of a second gym. We still have some work ahead of us!

Southwest Christian School enjoys a long history of people working together with a common purpose and spiritual commitment. It is with great pleasure that we celebrate this anniversary with you. With God’s blessing and prayerful planning, we look forward to a future of Christ-centered, college preparatory education at Southwest Christian School for generations to come.
